Dr. Adil Khan is the Director of Point of Care Testing at Temple University and Episcopal Hospitals and Director of the Clinical Chemistry Laboratories at Temple University and Episcopal Hospitals and Northeastern Ambulatory Care Center, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA.
He also holds an academic appointment at Temple University Lewis Katz School of Medicine as an Associate Professor of Pathology and Director of the Clinical Chemistry Pathology Residency Program. His research interests include understanding the role of adhesion molecules and extracellular vesicles in leukocyte recruitment both in health and disease; identifying novel markers of inflammation; clinical trials of point of care testing devices / clinical laboratory instruments, and assay development.
In addition to this he is the Chair of the International Federation of Clinical Chemistry Committee on Point of Care Testing of which he has also been a member. On a national level he has also has served as the Treasurer and later as the Chair for the Philadelphia Section of the American Association for Clinical Chemistry. Dr. Khan has been invited through the United National Development Program (UNDP) on a number of occasions to present his research, organize workshops and collaborate with scientific institutes within Pakistan. He has also been the recipient of the American Association for Clinical Chemistry Recognition Award in 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2012 and 2013.
